Friday's Letters

Dear Grandma: Thank you for this adorable Halloween card & Target gift card! You are simply the best! I can always count on you for cute holiday cards.

Dear Corey: I just dropped you off a couple of hours ago & I already miss ya! It was nice having you here in the North. Please come back soon! Although I will not be driving to Carson & Tahoe in the same day ever again.

Dear Taylor Swift: Thank you for your amazing album! I've had it on repeat since the day that I bought it. It's your best one yet.

Dear Lake Tahoe: You look so beautiful covered in snow. I'm glad I got to play in the snow, but it's no fun doing it by yourself. I'm still waiting for my ears to pop. Thank you high altitude.

Dear Lola: I need you back in my life! I almost considered going to a pet store & playing with the puppies because I'm going through with drawls :(

Friday's Letters

Dear Reno: Waking up to 39 degree weather every morning is just not cutting it for me. Yesterday I had to wear 2 hoodies to work because I was that cold. Next week the highs are only in the 50's. I'm doomed!

Dear Corey: You will be here in less than a week! YAY! I can't wait to show you around my little town & I will hopefully have you falling in love with it just as I have. Can't wait, bud!

Dear Fall: I love you so much up here. The trees are changing colors & it's amazing to see. Henderson definitely doesn't have Fall so it's awesome experiencing it for myself.

Dear Followers: I just got another new follower last night. Her name is Ashley & she actually is the one who started Friday's Letters. How amazing is that!? My baby blog is slowly starting to get some followers other than my own family & friends :) Keep em coming!

Dear Taylor Swift: Your new CD comes out next week & I can't wait! I'm already in love with the 4 songs you've released & I can't wait to hear the rest. I will definitely be buying my copy at Target though for the 6 additional songs.

There's No Place Like Home

Well everyone guess what I did this last weekend. I went back to Henderson! The weekend was perfect. I flew home on Friday early in the morning & didn't leave until Monday night. I'm starting to settle into life here in Reno, but that doesn't mean that I don't miss that city of lights. I remember my first trip to Reno when I flew home I looked out the window & saw the lights of home. If anyone has ever flew into Vegas at night you know what I'm talking about. It's a sight to be seen that's for sure. Friday morning my best friend Alexis picked me up from the airport with a bright pink sign covered in pictures of us & my name. I was so happy to see her & to be home in general. After that we went to my house & I got to see my pups Lola & Doodle. I can't even tell you how I excited I was to see them. Later in the day I stopped by my dad's work & got to visit with him for awhile & after Alexis took me to LOTUS! Corey & Alexes had invited me to a Halloween party at Nevada State College later that day & I of course wanted to see them both so I got to attend that fun little party. Plus my other bff Cynnamon & the Babelys were there so that was a added bonus! Cyn loved her biggest little city key chain :) The next day my mom woke me up asking me if I wanted to take my grandma's tickets to the UNLV, UNR game & I of course said yes! This was my 3rd year in a row going & it's one of the only football games I care to watch. As soon as the game got over I ran over to Alexes & Cynnamon's for our amazing craft day! Cyn & Alexes had picked 2 crafts off of pinterest so I went with the scrapbook flower on a painted canvas, but the other choice was a cute holiday wreath. Trust me the choice was a tough one! Along with us were Lando, Alexes's dad Lebron Jr aka Phillip & Lauren the baby Bailey. We were definitely crafting up a storm as we were munching on chicken nuggets & Dr. Pepper. Craft time with the Babelys/Morgans was awesome! I wish I could have crafted with them longer, but I had to run off to my uncle's induction into the Nevada wrestling hall of fame. I'm so proud of him! It was so great to see my dad's side of the family. Saturday was definitely a crazy busy day for me, but I'm glad I got to fit so many things into one day. Sunday my awesome mom took me winter clothes shopping/ new suit case shopping since I was in dire need of some real winter clothing & a bigger suitcase. It was great getting to spend time with my mom again. I do talk to her almost every day, but the phone & in person are two very different things. Later in the day my Grandma Corn had invited us to dinner & I got to pick the place. Everyone thought I'd choose Lotus, but everyone was wrong! I picked Macayo's instead :) So my brother Chad, my mom, my grandma, & I made our way to dinner & it was delicious. Getting to spend time with these 3 was awesome since everyone is so busy nowadays. After dinner came the time I was dreading. Goodbyes are not my thing nor do I think they ever will be. Especially when it comes to my brother. I didn't get to see him before I left to Reno so saying goodbye to him this time was hard for me. Right before he let me go from our hug he said "Call me if you need me." That was the end of my holding back the tears. After we dropped off my grandma I got to go spend some time with Corey & Laquan. These 2 are 2 of the greatest guys I know. I can't wait for Corey to come up next week! Monday morning I woke up to my chocolate lab sleeping right next to me. It's things like this that make me miss home so much.I also woke up to one awesome email from Elder Fish! Those 2 things definitely made my morning :) Alexis dropped by my house to say goodbye & that was hard! Hopefully she makes her way up North very soon! Finally 3:30 hit & my grandma was at my house ready to take me to the airport. Saying goodbye to my mom of course brought tears to my eyes, but I just had to keep reminding myself that I'd be back home soon. As my grandma pulled up to the Southwest curb at the airport the tears really started coming. My grandma told me she was so proud of me & she reminded me that I'm following my dream. What an amazing woman! I'm so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. My visit home was perfect & I'm so glad I was able to go. Although if you ever cry at the airport don't wear your sunglasses. I think everyone could tell I was crying. Now I'm back in the North & as I type this I keep staring at my new suitcase that needs unpacking. Unpacking suitcases is something I've always had a strong dislike for, but it definitely needs to be done. I got so many goodies while I was home :) Unfortunetly that's all I have for now, but I love you all.                  XOXO,

M.I.A.

Alright blog world, I am so sorry for my absence last week, but since I had already posted 3 times in 1 week I felt as if I was a little blogged out. I'm not too sure how people post more than once a week, I never know what to write about. This past week has been a busy one that's for sure. Between school & work I literally have no life, but that's fine with me. October is finally here & we all know what that means... basketball season!Basketball season is what I look forward to the most in October. Yes I love the weather, changing of the leaves, warm drinks, cute warm clothing, pumpkin anything,  Halloween, & everything else, but basketball is my first love. Whenever I meet the man I'm suppose to marry he better love basketball just as much as I do. One of my best friends Alexes the other day told me I need to retire my robe for awhile. I was thoroughly depressed. The day I get engaged I will be breaking that bad boy out again & will be glued to the TV watching the Heat play with my hair up & my robe on. Hopefully one day I find a man that can handle my wild lifestyle, but until then I guess I should start doing my hair again :/ This past week I got the chance to explore downtown Reno a lot more & also Midtown Reno. Both parts of this city were amazing. Downtown Reno is more for tourist & it's pretty peaceful down by the river, but Mid Town is more for the hipsters aka Corey Womble (Jk!) I got to meet the store owner of Reno Envy, a local business that makes t-shirts, stickers, posters, & they are also apart of the Reno visitors center. Meeting this man was awesome! He was super nice & not to mention he wasn't bad on the eyes either ;) Other than that my days are just full of work, work, & more work. I feel like one old granny at the end of the day, but every day I make more & more friends. Slowly I will start doing more things with the friends that I have up here, but I don't want to loose touch with any of my old friends from back home. I cannot wait to see them all! I feel like in the 2 months that I've been gone that I've missed so much, but the second I land in Las Vegas I'm sure it'll feel like I never left. I always catch myself calling Henderson my home even though Reno is my new home. I'm never able to decide which one I love more, but I think it may be Henderson because it holds everyone that I love. I am in no way saying that I want to move home, but I can't wait until my first visit home . There are so many plans & so many wonderful faces to see. Reno is starting to get a little chilly. Fall is officially here. The trees are beautiful up here, orange, yellow, & brown leaves are starting to emerge & I love it. It reminds me of my first time being up here in this beautiful city 4 years ago. Time flys by when you're having fun. The other day while I was working I was helping a older woman find some shoes. Her name was Audrey & we quickly became friends. I told her about my family, my friends, where I was from, & she did the same. It's people like her that make me love the job that I do. Needless to say Audrey & I had a great chat & come to find out it was her birthday! So I wished her a happy birthday & told her to eat some white cake with butter cream frosting for me. That's my favorite kind of cake just in case anyone wanted to know! Well Monday when I was at work my co worker Tina came in the back & told me I had someone there for me. Seeing as I don't tell too many people where I work I wasn't sure who I would find waiting for me. As it turns out it was Audrey! She had made me a cake & brought it in for me to share with my co workers. People like her are sunshine. She knew how homesick I was for my own grandma's so she did a good dead. I hugged her & thanked her so much & I of course ate some cake! Let me tell you, it was delicious! My co workers & I enjoyed this delicious cake very much. I also forgot to mention that I have a new follower! YAY! I'm so happy that my little blog is starting to grow & I hope to gain more followers soon :) Well that's all for now everyone.
