Well blog lovin' friends I'm officially home from "The Vegas" aka what my Reno friends call my home. My trip was one that I will never regret & I am so happy that I was able to make. I LIED to all of you loyal readers! I had previously said that I would be traveling home on the Sunday before Christmas & I pulled one over on everyone. I flew home Saturday the second I got off of work. I had hatched up this plan with my mom 2 weeks prior to my trip home & I couldn't wait to surprise everyone! Friday night I had made it a point to call my grandma's & make sure that they both thought I'd be home Sunday. My grandma Corn was sad I wouldn't be able to make the cookie party, but was very excited to see me Sunday. Little did she know she'd see me both nights! That Saturday I woke up ready to stuff my suitcase in my car & head to work, but I woke up to snow. At that time I was pretty worried about the weather, but I just prepared myself for the worst. Throughout the day I kept checking outside to see if it was snowing & it had calmed down. About 1 hour before my flight I peaked on my phone & it said my plane was delayed 15 minutes. At that time I was so worried that I wouldn't make it, but thankfully by the time I had to leave for the airport the snow had slowed down & I made it. I parked my car at the airport & made the trek to the terminals in the snow, but it didn't matter to me. All I wanted to do was be home with my family & it was all worth it. As I got up to get in line to board my plane I ran into a friend from high school & we decided to sit next to each other. It's funny how that always seems to happen to me. Even in Reno I run into people I know every one in awhile. As we were flying over Las Vegas I don't think I had ever been that happy to see the Las Vegas lights. The second we landed on the ground I turned my phone on & called my mom. After we finally all got off of the plane & got our luggage I was ready to run outside. I stepped outside & into the Vegas air & the first thing I heard was my mom & aunt Dollie calling my name. I was SO happy to see them! My mom had kidnapped my aunt from the cookie party & didn't tell her where they were heading until they pulled into the airport. Well we finally arrived at my aunt Karen's house & I let my mom & aunt walk in first. I waited a few minutes & then I strolled in. The first person to spot me was my cousin Sierra. She was so excited to see me :) The next person to see me was my grandma & all she could say was I thought you weren't going to be here until tomorrow you lied! It was a nice way to start off my trip back home. The party was a lot of fun & I finally decided to head over to my other aunts party. I walked in the door & surprised all of my dad's family as well. It was perfect that both sides of my family were having a party on the same night, it made life so much more fun. After attending 2 parties I finally got to head home to my mom's house. As soon as I turned the garage door handle I had a brown lab right in my face. Lola was probably the happiest to see me <3 I got to unload my suitcase from the car & catch up with my dogs & I then decided to let one of my friends know I was in town & we made plans to hangout & we did. My first night home was my favorite day of my trip. I got to see almost every person that I care about in one night. The next couple of days were a lot of fun & I packed a lot of things into a short period of time. Christmas was a great day as well. I got so many amazing presents, but the one I am most thankful for is the fact that I got to spend time with my family. Distance definitely makes the heart grown fonder. The Miami Heat also won! Such a great gift every year! I cried on this trip probably as many times as I've cried in this entire year! I thankfully know why & I'm glad to say that I am still in my non emotional mindset :) The day I had to leave Las Vegas to come back to Reno wasn't very fun. I had to wake up at 5 a.m. after staying up almost all night with friends & I was exhausted! I almost considered sleeping past my alarm clock, but I couldn't miss that flight. It's always hard to say goodbye. Especially to my dogs. I got to spend so much time with them & I miss them every day that I'm here in Reno. Especially Lola. My sidekick. We were stuck like glue the entire time I was home. When I was flying over the Lake Tahoe I looked out & everything was COVERED in snow!!! My co worker Tina had told me it snowed, but I wasn't prepared for how much! I finally unloaded the plane & got my suitcase & again made the long trek to my car. I had to let it get warm & I scrapped all the snow & ice off of it. How NOT fun that was! & working the day you come back from a trip isn't a smart idea! I was one hot mess! I've been back in Reno for a few days & I can't believe how much I miss home. I had to talk myself into coming back. I had been texting my friend Tina while I was home & she told me that she missed me up here. Tina is always telling me I'm never allowed to leave Reno. She's definitely one of my Reno best friends. I now have the new year to look forward to. This last year of my life was one I spent on myself. I kind of kept to myself & I let my heart take a rest, but 2013 is my breakout year. I need to bust out of my shell & see where I'm meant to be. This is the year I stop overthinking everything & let go. You only live once right? I also do not need anyone in my life that doesn't appreciate me. I must say I'm a great person to have in your corner. My big heart has a lot to offer :). I have yet to make a goal list like last year, but I'm sure I will get one soon enough. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas & that you will all have a great beginning to 2013! I so far have no set plans. I've been invited places, but we shall see. Every other year I go live it up so let's see!
