Hopelessly Devoted to You

A year ago today I had 2 huge life changing events happen to me. The first was the ending of my first love & the other was the beginning of my friendship with Alexes aka Chris Bosh. Evey now and again I think back to who I was a year ago & I can't believe it. I definitely had my rose colored glasses on back then & thankfully those are gone. "I use to think you were my happily ever after, but now I've realized you were only my once upon a time." When I read that tonight I realized how fitting that was. My first love was definitely a learning experience. The best part of this day was the fact that I went on my first "date" with my soon to be eternal best friend. We had geology together & at first we didn't talk to each other, but one day I was being my normal bratty self & when Alexes walked into class she was wearing the BRIGHTEST yellow shirt I had ever seen. I of course had to say something. I'm pretty sure I asked her if she wore bright shirts like that every day. She then replied no & we started talking. We had a study sesh with our friend Shawn & the entire time instead of studying Alexes and I just talked. We discovered how many mutual friends we had, we talked about our love of crafting, & much more. I also got to meet Landan aka D Wade aka Alexes' husband on this day. These 2 I instantly loved & from then on we were the trio. November 18th 2011 Alexes & I were in class & we had decided to go see Breaking Dawn together at midnight. That night we went to Bww & then we headed down to Cinedome. Well Alexes & I found our seats & not even 5 minutes later a girl tapped me on the shoulder & asked if we could move down one. Again I was being a brat & said no. This strange girl then offered me fruit snacks & popcorn & I graciously accepted them. Alexes being sceptical declined. Day 1 she discovered how many people offer me free things. The girl also offered to share her blanket, but I declined. There is a certain point where I say no & that was it. During the movie my ex boyfriend called me so I snuck out of the theater & left poor Alexes alone for quiet some time. & if you have read any of my previous blog posts you'll know what happens next. Needless to say Alexes was my first call as soon as I got out of my ex's car. From that night on our friendship grew. We did crafts together, baked cookies, went swimming, pretty much everything. The first time Alexes introduced me to Landan's family she told everyone we were sista wives, Landan's little brother layed on my knee, & Landan & I screamed at the tv while watching the rebel basketball game. I love having them both as my best friends. When I first met Alexes I hated Glee & so every time she watched it she made Landan & I be quiet. We HATED Glee. & every Tuesday night before we would all watch New Girl Alexes would make us watch Glee. She is the cause of my Glee addiction & half the cause of my love of robes. My ginger mom Cyn is the other half of that one. One day Alexes invited me to a Christmas party at her church with Landan & some friends & I decided that I'd go. That was the night my life change began. That was also the first time I got to meet Brandeis & Jerilyn. Kittay Mark W. was also there with us. This was one amazing night. After that night I decided I wanted to attend church with the Morgo's & from then on I decided to meet with the missionaries & in January I was baptized Mormon. One of the best decisions of my life. I will save my conversion story for another day though. I got to meet my adopted family of gingers aka the Baileys. Phillip, Cyn, Rebecca, Alexes, Chris, & Lauren. Cyn Alexes' mom is my ginger mom. Cynnabooty, Cynnamint, Cynni, ginga, & that's only half of her nicknames. & then there is her cutie pie husband Phillip aka Lebron Jr. & Alexes' cute sisters Rebecca & little Lauren. & no one can forget Jack aka Jackie chin. I honestly can't tell you what kind of person I'd be if I hadn't met Alexes a year ago. She helped me get through probably the hardest year of my life & I'm so thankful to her for that. We've done so much together in this 1 year alone & I can't wait to see what else life has in store for us. I love you boo boo :) Other than my friend anniversary this week has been pretty mellow. I finally got my shipping info for Tyler's package that I sent to the Ukraine! :) I can't wait for him to get it :) & this Friday is Black Friday aka the busiest day of my year. Thankfully I am only working a 9 1/2 hour shift this year unlike last year when I worked 16 hours straight. What a long day! I hope you all have one amazing week & have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Remember what you're thankful for this week!
